The Dongkang Hospital first opened on June 13, 1981. Under the philosophy of “Sincerity, Harmony and Hospitality,” the 453-bed general hospital continuously promoted Ulsan citizens’ health and treated numerous industrial accident patients from Ulsan, which was known as a disgraceful region deprived of medical care in the early days.

There are 900 staff members, 569 beds in operation, an average of 1,500 outpatients a day and more than 500 inpatients at the hospital. The hospital is being trusted and loved by Ulsan citizens while making its utmost effort to advance the hospital facilities and its services.

The hospital adopted the Full Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and the 64 - channel Multi-Detector CT System (MDCT) in 2006 as well as the PET-CT in 2009, thanks to the citizens’ affection for the hospital. Adoption of the advanced equipment was a turning point.

In this 21st century, the hospital is ceaselessly modernizing facilities, adopting high-tech equipment, securing outstanding medical staff and improving medical services to achieve its goal of becoming an advanced hospital.
